Tougher rules on a driver using mobile phones have recently come in. Previously, drivers using their phones at the wheel were fined up to £200 and got SIX points on their licence. But now, it is illegal for drivers on the roads to use - OR EVEN HOLD - their phones, or any other electronic device - such as a sat nav or tablet.
It is completely illegal for the driver to do this, EVEN IF IN STATIONARY TRAFFICE...
If it’s not part of the car, such as a raised dashboard display… DON’T TOUCH IT!
I have been representing drivers in Court on motoring matters for many years, whether it’s excess alcohol, a failure to renew insurance in time, speeding, USING THEIR PHONES…. or 12 points totting up and facing disqualification….
